Chaos is back for one night of unbridled cover revival retracing their musical steps. 32 years after their first gig on the dusty streets of Windhoek and 30 years after their last at the DHPS, they will dig deep into an impressive catalogue of songs that were oldies in the 90’s and others that have become classics since. Covering the Beatles, Joe Cocker, Led Zeppelin, GnR, Dr. Alban, Leon Schuster, Prince, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Coolio, Eddie Grant, REM, Queen, The Eagles, Wet Wet Wet, Peter Schilling, Chubby Checker, Paul Simon and Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ben E. King, The Pretenders, Boyz 2 Men, Santana, Die Ärzte, Rolling Stones, Toten Hosen, Johnny Clegg, Bill Haley and the Comets, Cat Stevens, Men at Work, Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, Eddie Grant, Elton John, Elvis, Drafi Deutscher, they will leave your head spinning with diverse musical delight.
Chaos formed in 1993 in Windhoek, Namibia. With Francois Kurz on vocals, Felix Hug on keys, Dieter Liepsch and Rüdiger Gretschel on guitar, Steffen List on bass and Peter Benz on Drums, they provided musical accompaniment to school events, weddings, parties, carnival, dances and state visits. Their patchwork of musical influences reflects the heady days of mid-90’s post-Independence Namibia.
They have since gone on to careers and families in the UK, France, USA, Germany, South Africa, India and Namibia. Reuniting on the 14th of November at the DHPS Aula in Windhoek, shaking off the dust that has gathered over a quarter of a century, this will be a night to remember.
