Mark your calendars and join us next week Saturday for the opening of Lynette Musukubili’s second solo concert exhibition Material Memories.
Over the past few years, Lynette Musukubili has emerged as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Namibian art. Through her innovative use of reclaimed plastic bags, transformed into intricate crocheted tapestries and sculptural works, she has developed a practice that is both deeply personal and unmistakably her own. Plastic is a material loaded with contradiction. It is durable, adaptable, and capable of taking countless forms throughout its lifespan. Yet it is also one of the defining environmental challenges of our time, persisting long after its intended use has ended. In Musukubili’s hands, however, plastic becomes something else entirely. It becomes a vessel for reflection, connection, and memory.
We look forward to welcoming you all at The Project Room.
