Brief History: Site was used as strategic military base for the South African Defence Force (SADF), 54 battalion, during the apartheid regime, since the 1970s with highest priority. It was set up between the church, the hospital and the secondary school of Eenhana. Human remains where found that may belong to SWAPO members who were tortured to death.

Legal Status: National Heritage Act, No. 27 of 2004, proclaimed 2007.
