Brief History: On the 26th of August in 1966 the South African Police launched a helicopter-borne assault on the SWAPO base. Therefore at this site the Namibian War of Liberation and Independence started.
Legal Status: National Heritage Act, No. 27 of 2004, proclaimed 15.08.2004.
